Introducing a NEW OSR Multi-Genre System! System 84 by Ken Spencer Hi all, I’m Ken Spencer, award winning RPG writer and designer. You probably know me from Rocket Age, Northlands Saga, or Adventures in Middle Earth. I’ve got a new project I’ve been working on for a few years now and it is about ready to launch. We’ve got art, cover, editing, layout, all taken care of. We need to raise some money for shipping and printing, maybe even pay me as the writer. |
What is SYSTEM 84?
System 84 is our multi-genre OSR system designed to be the engine behind our games. If you have played any version of, shall we say the world’s oldest fantasy RPG, modern or old-school you know the system. Armor class, hit points, saving throws, all what you are used to. Instead of a skill system we have Ability Feats, each ability score covers a range of things a character might do, roll a d6 and beat your Ability Feat score (usually 2-5) and you succeed. It is fast and light, like bending bars and lifting gates from back in the day. There is a bit more to the system than that, but the result is a quick system that is fun to play.

The focus of the system is Catopia Prime, homeworld of the Caturday and center of their expanding hold on the region. Venture into the Kåtze system to discover:
- The hot humid jungles of Sh'lo where the wealthy travel to vacation in tropical splendor or risk their lives hunting the planet's many deadly lifeforms.
- Explore the barren planet of Scraw'b and the exiled necromancer Fluafie the Apostate that lurks with her army of the undead, plotting the overthrow of the Caturday and eventually the entire known universe.
- Catopia Prime, a planet rich in history and resources. From the capital of Catopia City to the ruins of the Lost's Lands there is adventure aplenty for the brave or foolish.
- Plus three other planets, ships of the Caturday, a pantheon of gods, and new technology, there is something in Catopia Prime for every player and GM!
